Able, Gifted and Talented

Able, Gifted and Talented at Woodlea

We have been working hard over the past academic year to identify our 'Able, Gifted and Talented' pupils in school. This year Mrs Astbury will be working to develop our provision for AGT pupils.

Keep an eye on our page to find out what we have been up to!

Year 5 visits to Wellfield

We have been working in partnership with one of our local high schools, Wellfield. They have invited us to take part in their primary transition project and some of our Year 5 children have regular opportunities to go and take part in sessions for: Maths, English, Science, Art, Food Technology and Music.

This is the second year we have been participating in the project, it is a really exciting, engaging opportunity for our children and those who have already been and taken part were thrilled and wanted to go again!

If you would like any more information about this project please contact Mrs Astbury.

The Listeners - Walter de la Mere

Some of our Year 6 children have been spending time reading 'The Listeners' by Walter de la Mere. They explored the poem, the language and vocabulary and then wrote alternative endings in story or poem form.
