Welcome to Chimps' Class
In Chimps' class Mr Payne is the class teacher and the Teaching Assistants are Mrs Quinn and Mrs Smith.
For the Autumn term we are looking at 'Survival'. We will be reading 'Running Wild' by Michael Morpurgo and writing our own adventure stories. In geography we are looking at Indonesia and identifying the human and physical geography. In science we are learning about how animals have adapted to survive in different environments.
To support this, our first trip of the year is to 'Brockholes Nature Reserve' where we will be building our own dens, learning how to make fires and pond dipping to look at invertebrate adaptation
On the 20th October 6C held their Business Week sale. They made a range of products themed around Halloween - trick or treat baskets, ghost lollys, monster bookmarks and spooky pom poms. The children raised £60 which will go towards their leaver's hoodies at the end of the year.
On the 26th September Year 6 had a 'survival day' at Brockholes Wildlife Reserve, near Preston. Whilst there, they learnt how to make fires and build shelters. They also went pond-dipping to study how different invertebrates are adapted to survive.
