Welcome to Chimps.
Chimps (6C) are taught by Mr Payne and supported by Mrs Stableford.
Our first topic in 2019 is 'Heroes and Villains'.
In English, we will be re-writing a scene from William Shakespeare's 'Macbeth'. We will start with a workshop delivered by Lady Macbeth and one of the Wyrd Sisters to create interest and develop understanding of the main ideas in the story.
In Maths, we will be building on our work done so far on number and develop our skills in reasoning. We will look at different approaches to solving reasoning problems.
In Science, we are learning about how the circulatory system works in our bodies and why it is so essential to keep it healthy. We will investigate the effects of exercise on our bodies through practical experimentation.
In Design Technology we will be finding out about the importance of healthy diet in keeping ourselves well. We will investigate the 'eatwell plate' and use it to analyse the nutritional content of a range of sandwiches. After tasting different sandwich ingredients we will design and make our own 'balanced meal' sandwiches.
Recently we have used 'Garage band' to create our own musical compositions inspired by British musicians. We then used the ipads to script and shoot our own music videos making sure that we considered the different types of shots that we could use.
