Welcome back, we hope you all had a lovely Easter.
This term our topic will be Water, Water Everywhere. We will be studying Rivers in Geography, in History we will look at the influence of the Nile on Ancient Egypt and our science topic will be Changing State.
Tigers Class had a great time investigating how to make electric circuits.
Tigers Science Work
This week, we have been learning all about the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. We researched her and created information posters, created art showing her profile on coins throughout her life and learnt the National Anthem!
Take a look at some of our work and photos for the day.
We will be learning about the three states of matter, the Water Cycle, rivers, ancient Egypt and lots more!
This half term we really enjoyed our Egypt day! We learnt all about ancient Egypt and what it would have been like to live there. We used hieroglyphics in our maths and tasted food which was around in the time of ancient Egypt. The class was very brave and tried everything!
We have been learning about The Black Death - or plague of 1665-1666.
On Wednesday 9th of December we went to Blackpool Tower Dungeon!
We experienced what the world was like back in 1666 and even got to see a plague victim being dissected!
Well... not really...
Look at our 'Day of the Dead' art! We took a scary object and made it look beautiful with bright colours and pastels!
Spellings will now be given on the homework sheet (Wednesday) and will be tested on the following Wednesday. The class will learn the spellings in class throughout the week, but any extra practise at home would be fantastic.
Keep checking back for photographs of our wonderful work!
Here are pictures of some of our finished working torches! We made them using our knowledge of electrical circuits:
Today we were very lucky to have a visit from the Football Development Programme. They came and played football with us and then used football to help teach us addition, division and number bonds!
It was lots of fun!
Firstly, thank you to everyone who brought their £1 in to help save tigers.
We had a great afternoon creating tiger biscuits! Apologies if none of them made it home - they were very yummy!
First we mixed orange food colouring with icing sugar, and spread it on our biscuit.
Finally, we decorated them using chocolate drops for eyes and chocolate, caramel and white chocolate icing for stripes!
Here are some of our finished biscuits:
