  • Science Week

Mon 08 Feb 2016 Norman Payne

During the week beginning 8th February 2016, Woodlea Juniors held the first of their annual 'Science weeks'.

The fun was kick-started by a visit from Adrian Bowden's Science show. Adrian delivered shows to Lower KS2 children on 'Light and Sound' and to the Upper KS2 children on 'Marvellous Materials'. Many parents attended and a great time was had by all!

Throughout the week all of the classes delivered their learning through science, so children were producing information texts about scientific concepts, using data handling to present and interpret their findings as well as designing and taking part in many hands-on experiments.

Some of our children in year 4 and year 6 were lucky enough to visit Worden High school and take part in exciting 'High School' science!

It was great to see all of the children so enthusiastic about science and also willing to share their knowledge in our science celebration assembly on 12th February.

    LITTLE PRINCESS TRUST

A BIG thank you to Frankie and Abbie in year 6 for their act of generosity. Last week they had ’10 inches’ each out of their hair cut off. This has been dontated to ‘Little Princess Trust’, where wigs will be made for children who have lost their hair as a result of Cancer. We are very proud of them both.
