Goodbye to Chimps' class of 2019!
Mr Payne and Mrs Stableford wish each and every one of you the very best of luck as you begin your journey into high school and the next exciting stage of your education.
Each and every one of you has grown so much over the course of the year and we can honestly say that we are all very proud of you - our best year yet!
Stay safe over the summer, enjoy the weather and don't be a stranger in September!
Clitheroe Castle trip
We went to Clitheroe in Late February to support our learning about the events of 1066. We had a great day handling weapons and armour, acting out the battles of that year and learning all about the construction of motte and bailey castles.
Science Week 11th-15th February 2019
After our visit from Adrian Bowden and his fantastic science show, we set about finding out more about circuits. We learnt how to represent circuits using symbols - so that they could be understood by anyone - then investigated the effect of adding extra bulbs / cells to a simple circuit and explored the benefits of parallel vs series circuits. Using this knowledge we then worked on designing and building a burglar alarm with both light and sound, that could still work if one of the components failed, and added a home-made pressure pad switch.
Music videos
Recently we have used 'Garage band' to create our own musical compositions inspired by British musicians. We then used the ipads to script and shoot our own music videos making sure that we considered the different types of shots that we could use.
