Hello! Welcome to Year 6! It is great to welcome you all back to another super year at Woodlea.
Mr McCracken is the class teacher, and Mrs Quinn is our class TA.
In English this half term, we will be completing a unit based on the story of the Running Wild by Michael Morpurgo. The outcome for this unit of work is to write an adventure story.
In our Maths, we are using the Maths No Problem scheme of work and will begin the year by looking at Numbers to 10 Million.
Our wider curriculum focus for the Autumn Term will be Tudor Explorers. Our Geography and History lessons will cover the location of the country, where the Tudors discovered, their interactions with the people who lived there and the impact on the people who lived there and the continent of North America.
Our PE days are Thursday and Friday and an outdoor PE Kit is recommended as the weather turns colder.
Homework will be set on a Friday and it is to be completed by the following Friday. Homework will be set online using either TTRockstars, Mathletics and Spelling Shed.
This will be put on the class page each week.
Children must read at home a minimum of four times within a week, this can include Reading Plus. Books will go home on a Friday and must be returned on the following Friday. Reading records must be signed by an adult.
