Your final term at Woodlea is here! The Summer term is looking lovely and bright, there is lots going on in school, from our end of year performance to the Robinwood residential trip.
We will be doing lots of work around transition, supporting you as you prepare to move up to high school in September.
Mrs Astbury is the class teacher and she will be assisted by Mrs Smith. They will be in class every day supporting learning.
In English this half term, we will be continuing our work based on Ross MacKenzie’s ‘Nowhere Emporium’. Alongside this, for the first few weeks we will be revising for our Reading and Grammar tests.
In our Maths, we will be focussing mainly on revision. This will take the form of past paper questions, low stakes quizzes and other revision activities.
Our wider curriculum focus for the Summer term will be all about World War Two.
Our PE days are Wednesday Friday. An outdoor PE Kit is still recommended as the weather can still be unpredictable.
Homework will be set on a Friday and it is to be completed by the following Friday. Homework will be set online using either TTRockstars, Mathletics and Spelling Shed.
This will be put on the class page each week.
Children must read at home a minimum of four times within a week, this can include Reading Plus. Books will go home on a Friday and must be returned on the following Friday. Reading records must be signed by an adult.
Your homework for next week (due Friday 1st July) is as follows:
- TTRockstars (10 games)
- Reading Plus (x3 plus 1 vocab)
- Shakespeare Rocks songs, particularly All the World's a Stage and To Be or Not To Be
