Welcome to Woodlea Junior School's Young Governor’s Page
First and foremost, congratulations to our successful Young Governor representatives for this 2024/2025 year. In Gorillas, Neive; in Pandas, Bobby and Sophia; in Tigers, Adam and Dominic; and Joseph and Evelyn in Rhinos. In Year Five, Elephants, Noah and Ellie; Millie and Jake in Leopards and in Year Six, Harry and Oliver in Orangutans and Amelia and Bobby in Chimps.
This anti-bullying week, as a school we looked at the theme of respect and how we can all show respect to our friends, family and community. As a school we designed posters that will remind us how to be respectful. Our Young Governors then went through these posters and selected some that will decorate our corridors and classrooms.
Our Previous Work
In 2023/2024, our Young Governor’s realised that lunch is an integral part of the school day, and should be the most enjoyable time. We are aware eating in school should be a pleasurable experience, time spent sharing good food with peers and teachers. As a young governing body, the children will carried out some research about creating a culture and ethos of healthy eating during lunchtimes! The children will concentrate on gathering information about the environment in the dining hall, social life and communication interactions with children and adults during lunchtimes.
Outdoor Classroom
The School Council have decided that an outdoor classroom would be a great addition to our outdoor area. We considered reasons why and wrote a letter to Mrs Shorrocks.
