The Summer term is on us already and there are lots of exciting activities planned for all children in school. The weather is unpredictable so please send your child in for all eventualities. Thank you.

Woodlea Junior School

Soup made with Home Grown Produce

During the Summer Term, Mrs Smith and Mrs Quinn planted seeds of all sorts in the quad area in school. Last week Mrs Quinn and some children harvested a basic crop of 'Corn on the Cob' and Red Onions'. Mrs Leggett was then asked if she would make something that the children could sample.
She came up with a Sweetcorn and Onion soup.
Mrs Quinn, along with the food council sampled the dish and gave their feedback.
I have to comment that it tasted surprisingly delicious, so much so that Mrs Strickland and I asked if we could have a second helping.
A huge 'Thank you' to Mrs Quinn, Mrs Smith and Mrs Leggett.
