A warm welcome to Elephants Class!

In Elephants class this year, Mrs Younis is our class teacher. She is joined by Mrs. Rufus, who is our teaching assistant, supporting the children with their learning.

We have an exciting year ahead, filled with lots of fun and learning opportunities. Be sure to check this page regularly to see what we’ve been up to!

If you have any questions or would like to speak with someone, please don’t hesitate to contact Mrs Younis through the school office.

What a fantastic start we've had to the Spring term! The children have shown incredible enthusiasm and curiosity in their learning so far. We're looking forward to an action-packed and inspiring half term ahead, filled with exciting adventures, engaging projects, and meaningful learning experiences.

Summer

This term in English, we’ll be exploring stories from different cultures, inspired by Journey to the River Sea, and writing non-chronological reports linked to our rainforest topic. In Geography, we’ll be learning all about rainforests—their features, importance, and the impact of deforestation.

In History, we’re diving into the Industrial Revolution, with an exciting visit to Helmshore Mill to enrich our learning. In Science, we’ll be investigating animals including humans, and exploring the forces around us. Our RE focus will be on Christianity, particularly Jesus and the Church.

Drawing inspiration from Yinka Shonibare, we’ll be exploring sculpture in Art and DT and creating our own imaginative pieces. To develop our Computing skills, we’ll be using a rented 3D printer and engaging with programming activities through iLearn2.

PE includes swimming for some pupils, Military School for Leopards, and striking & fielding, orienteering, and net games for Elephants.

It’s shaping up to be a vibrant and enriching Summer term!
