Woodlea Junior School

Duck Rescue

Stranded in the 'Quad' in the centre of Woodlea, was a duck and her 14 ducklings. Staff and the children in school were very concerned and wanted to help rescue them. They took advice from the RSPB. The school was told that inorder for them to be rescued safely, the duck and her ducklings must be moved together and during daylight.
The rescue mission took place. Mrs Smith, Miss Fyfe, Mrs Porter and Mrs Atherton safely put the ducks in a box and drove to Shruggs Wood where the duck and her ducklings were released.
From the pictures below you will see their safe release!
