Snow Leopards

Welcome to Snow Leopards!

This year, Snow Leopards will be led by Miss Wilson, with support from Mrs Roberts. We’re excited to see the wonderful learning, achievements, and memories that will unfold throughout our Upper Juniors journey together!

Exploring, Creating, Achieving

This Spring term, our learning journey is packed with exciting opportunities across the curriculum.

In English, our writing focus will be science fiction, with the children working towards writing their own imaginative science fiction stories. For our non-fiction unit, the children will create an information booklet linked to our Science topic on Forces.

In History, pupils will be learning about the Kingdom of Benin. During Spring 2, our Geography learning will focus on a city study of Liverpool.

In Science, children will study Forces during Spring 1, before moving on to Living Things and Their Habitats in Spring 2.

Our RE learning will focus on Hinduism in Spring 1, followed by Judaism in Spring 2. To support this learning, the children will take part in a Synagogue visit on Wednesday 25th February 2026.

In Art, children will explore landscape art before creating their own landscape artwork. In DT, during Spring 2, pupils will design and make African musical instruments.

For PE, both classes will continue with swimming. In addition, Elephants will take part in Military School for their second PE lesson, while Leopards will study dance in Spring 1 before moving on to invasion games in Spring 2.

This term is filled with engaging learning experiences across all subjects.

English:
Children will explore Beowulf by Michael Morpurgo as part of our Legends of the British Isles topic. They will create their own legends and later move on to persuasive writing, learning to present clear and confident arguments.

History & Geography:
In History, we’ll examine how the Kingdom of England was formed, focusing on the Vikings, Anglo-Saxons, and the significant events of the Battle of Hastings in 1066. In Autumn 2, we’ll switch to Geography, where children will study the United Kingdom—its landscapes, people, and regions.

Science & Art:
In Science, pupils will investigate the properties of materials through practical experiments. In Art, they will explore printmaking and develop new creative techniques.

PE:
This term, our PE focus is striking and fielding, helping children to develop coordination, teamwork, and confidence.

Music & PSHE:
In Music, children will learn and perform Living on a Prayer, working on rhythm, pitch, and performance. Our PSHE work will centre on friendships and building positive, supportive relationships.

Computing:
Children will learn how to stay safe online and begin developing their programming skills through digital projects. Key areas include Self-Image and Identity, Online Relationships, Online Reputation, and Online Bullying.
