Dear Parents/Carers
As Christmas approaches this year, the Food Council are doing a collection for the local foodbank at Leyland St Mary’s Church.
We understand that this year has been tough but anything you can donate will be greatly appreciated. We will be looking to collect any products that have a long shelf life, e.g.: pasta, rice and any tinned products.
In anticipation for your support, thank you.
Mr Scott and the Food Council
Despite Woodlea and the rest of the country being in 'lockdown', we wanted to show our respects for those that have ;lost their lives in conflict.
Our Team Captains went to the Council Offices and listened to the Mayor, witnessed the firing of the cannon and observed the 2 minutes silence.
Meanwhile in school, all the children went outside in their bubbles. Myself and other staff read poems of Remembrance and spoke about the significance of the day, 11.11.11 and the reasoning behind the Red Poppy.
At 11am, the church bells chimed 11 and the canon was heard from the Council Offices: this started Woodlea's observation of the 2 minutes silence.

Dear Parents
PARENTS’ EVENING
I trust that you are all well and staying safe. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the support that you have shown during the start of this term. It has been a very strange start to this year and not being able to have the usual parental contact: face to face conversations, family assemblies and visiting school is very strange.
This year, like many schools locally, instead of face to face meetings with the teachers, we are having 5 minute meetings over the phone. These will take place as scheduled on Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st October. These conversations will give you an opportunity to speak with class teachers as to how your child has settled into their new class and how they are is progressing.
Teachers will contact you on your preferred number. Their number will be withheld when they phone you.
If you are unable to speak to teachers on one of these nights, please contact them and they will arrange another time.
Can you message your teacher via SeeSaw and state which appointment slot you would prefer. All appointments are given on a first come, first served basis.
Yours sincerely
Mrs J Shorrocks
Headteacher
