  • Foodbank - Christmas 2020

    Wed 02 Dec 2020

    2nd December 2020

    Dear Parents/Carers

As Christmas approaches this year, the Food Council are doing a collection for the local foodbank at Leyland St Mary’s Church.

We understand that this year has been tough but anything you can donate will be greatly appreciated. We will be looking to collect any products that have a long shelf life, e.g.: pasta, rice and any tinned products.

In anticipation for your support, thank you.

Mr Scott and the Food Council

  • Remembrance Services for Woodlea

    Tue 17 Nov 2020

Despite Woodlea and the rest of the country being in 'lockdown', we wanted to show our respects for those that have ;lost their lives in conflict.

Our Team Captains went to the Council Offices and listened to the Mayor, witnessed the firing of the cannon and observed the 2 minutes silence.

Meanwhile in school, all the children went outside in their bubbles. Myself and other staff read poems of Remembrance and spoke about the significance of the day, 11.11.11 and the reasoning behind the Red Poppy.

At 11am, the church bells chimed 11 and the canon was heard from the Council Offices: this started Woodlea's observation of the 2 minutes silence.
